Overview
All 5 nights of this trip are spent in small villages and mountain lakes.
Valley & Vines Experience offers a more relaxed experience on the KVR including a venture along the Southern Spur route and Skaha Lake to a superb winery charcuterie, cycling through the famous Myra Canyon tunnels & trestle bridges and a downhill ride via Chute Lake, plus the boutique wineries and excellent accommodation of the Naramata Bench and village. The pace is more relaxed with shorter days and 2 layover days.

Depart at your leisure from your hotel in Penticton on Day 1. You tell us what time to book lunch at Liquidity Winery in OK Falls.

Total distance travelled: approximately 120 km
Shortest day is 20 km (Day 1) and longest is 60 km (Day 3)
Trip Rating: Easy to Moderate
Although the KVR Trail is mostly a wilderness trail and can offer up variable conditions – this tour includes some of the easier terrain of the KVR and excludes the uphill section. There is one longer day – approx. 60 km’s on mostly flat to gentle downhill terrain (2% grade).

No. of days cycling: 4-5 days cycling along the KVR, KVR Southern Spur Route, back country roads and Naramata Bench wineries
No. of nights accommodation: 4 nights; beginning with the more casual and convenient stay in Penticton to a rustic, charming lakeside resort stay in Naramata (beach access, outdoor pool and hot tub)
No. of meals included: 6 meals including 4 breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner (you’ll be given details ahead of the trip)
Bicycle Rental
We use 24-speed Giant Trail Bikes, and they are included in the cost of the tour. Our bikes are chosen specifically for travel on the KVR and work well with the terrain. They’re equipped with rear racks and panniers. Helmets are also included.
We do not have e-bikes in our fleet, but we can connect you to bike rental businesses.
If you bring your own bike or rent a bike, we will deduct $50 from the cost of the tour. Please make sure your bike is suitable for off-road conditions. You will be responsible for all maintenance/repairs, as we do not stock parts for other makes/models.
Route Notes, Maps, and Tips: We’ll make sure you have the information you need for the tour.
Emergency Support
Note: This tour is self-guided, and you should be confident in changing a flat tire and with basic maintenance. We can provide you with instruction should you need. Although this tour is self-guided, we are never far away should you need anything! Callouts to the trail may incur an additional charge
Bike repair kits are included for each group that is traveling together.
